A diverse team with over 80 years combined experience in high-performance audio, and over a decade of experience building extremely capable high-output acoustic devices for military and industrial applications.
With over 80 years combined experience in high-performance audio, and over a decade of experience building extremely capable high-output acoustic devices for military and industrial applications, it’s no surprise that such a unique, game-changing device such as NEUTRON came from a team as uniquely qualified as the Acoustic Research Systems core team. Within our group is a suite of acoustic testing and engineering expertises that allows ARS to not only provide industry-leading acoustic testing services, but also design and manufacture our own turnkey acoustic testing systems, a capability that is unique to ARS in the field of acoustic testing. We believe that our product is only as good as the people behind it. At ARS, that belief is the primary driving force behind what moves us to not just build a better product, but also to build a better company. We are a group whose sole focus is serving the people and projects in the global aerospace market with best-in-class solutions for ultra-high output acoustic launch simulation testing, as we usher in the future of acoustic testing systems and solutions together.
CEO & Co-Founder
A successful, lifelong entrepreneur and motivational force, Jeremiah brings over a decade of executive management experience to ARS, as well as 6 years of experience with acoustic testing and operational management of acoustic testing systems. His previous experience working with CTO Eric Friedlander performing acoustic testing services helped him recognize the vast potential of the critically underserved acoustic testing market and led to Jeremiah & Eric co-founding Acoustic Research Systems. Jeremiah has a BS & MBA from Shepherd University in Business & Economics, and resides in Shepherdstown, WV with his family and with Owen, ARS’s unofficial 4-legged mascot and Director of Compliance.
CTO & Co-Founder
A background in audio engineering led Eric to Maryland Sound International, where he quickly rose through the company ranks and found himself running acoustic tests for their MSI-DFAT division. Following several years of successful tests and piloting advances in MSI’s testing capabilities, Eric moved on to join Harman Professional, relocating to Los Angeles. With HPro he managed several of JBL’s professional loudspeaker product lines and led multiple, successful global business development and training initiatives across HPro’s diverse brand offerings. Seeing the opportunity for growth and new technologies in the acoustic testing market, and with nearly a decade of product management and global business experience under his belt, Eric reunited with Jeremiah in 2018 to focus full-time on Acoustic Research Systems. Eric has a BS from American University in Audio Technology, and is frequently sighted surfing just South of Tower 20, at his home break in Santa Monica, CA.
MA (Hons) CANTAB | Chief Acoustic Designer
Ed is a born scientist, and approaches every new project with the same approach – the only rules are the fundamental laws of physics – and beyond that, anything is possible. Ed is listed as the inventor on two granted patents and a third patent-pending, all for acoustic technologies, and his 20+ years of acoustic design experience in both musical and industrial acoustic applications makes him one of the industry’s most capable and experienced inventors. A skilled piano player with a love for music, this gives Ed the perfect blend of emotion and scientific rationale when approaching any design problem. Ed was educated originally at Charterhouse in Surrey, and then at St John’s College, Cambridge, where he graduated with honors.

A love of music and performance – drums being the instrument of choice – remains at the forefront of Mike’s passion for the audio industry today. His engineering background makes him ideally placed for mechanical design considerations – flying and lifting systems being a core strength – and this remains his main role within the business. His primary responsibilities are the mechanical design and CAD work of all ARS products, as well as leading our manufacturing efforts. Mike was educated at Charterhouse in Surrey, and then went on to read Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London where he graduated with honors.
Chief Strategy Officer
Jim Scott has successfully started, bought, and sold numerous businesses throughout his professional career. His experiences in both start-up and integration environments have contributed to his ability to drive success and strong financial results in any climate, and led to his addition to the Acoustic Research Systems (ARS) team as VP of Business Development. In this role he will look to expand ARS’s reach in the aerospace industry, working not only with our clients directly, but also with aerospace-adjacent groups, seeking to build greater strategic partnerships for ARS in our core markets and beyond. Beyond his work with ARS, Jim is very community minded and started a Non-Profit called The WV Visionary Group. WVVG focuses on mentoring high school students through a series of lessons called The Habits of Heroes which focuses on emotional intelligence and mindfulness, teaching the soft skills that are not being taught in schools today.
