Acoustic Research Systems Completes Delivery and Training for Landmark Acoustic Testing System at RAL Space
Potsdam, Germany – December 2024
Acoustic Research Systems (ARS) and its European subsidiary Acoustic Research System (Europe) GmbH is pleased to announce the successful delivery and implementation of its Neutron™ acoustic testing system at the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council’s RAL Space site in Oxfordshire. This delivery marks the final milestone in the provision of a large-scale Direct Field Acoustic Noise (DFAN) test system solution to RAL Space awarded in November 2023, aiming to advance the capabilities of the National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) to simulate the acoustic environmental stress levels experienced during space vehicle launches.
The modularly designed turnkey testing solution has now been installed and is operational, positioning RAL Space at the forefront of space testing facilities in Europe. In collaboration with RAL Space, ARS has provided comprehensive training for the facility’s personnel, ensuring that they are fully equipped to utilize the new system effectively and confidently.
In addition to the delivery and training, ARS is set to supervise three critical tests to validate and optimize the implementation of the system. This proactive involvement underscores ARS’s commitment to fostering a successful and productive partnership with RAL Space. Moving forward, ARS remains dedicated to supporting RAL Space in its endeavors, offering additional Neutron™ acoustic devices for even larger and more ambitious tests as needed.
“The successful delivery and operationalization of our acoustic testing system is a testament to the collaborative efforts between ARS and RAL Space,” said Tobias Wulf, ARS Managing Director Europe. “We are excited about the possibilities this partnership opens in developing Europe’s capacity for cutting-edge Direct Field Acoustic Noise (DFAN) testing. With this ongoing relationship, we look forward to empowering RAL Space to achieve even greater success in future space missions.”
ARS continues to strengthen its international presence, demonstrating its unrivaled expertise in acoustic testing solutions and commitment to client satisfaction. This project not only solidifies ARS’s reputation for excellence but also enhances the strategic value of Direct Field Acoustic Noise (DFAN) testing methods throughout Europe.
